53 years of Service 1972-2025
Our various services are designed to advocate, assist and promote the well-being and independence of seniors in Shiawassee County.
In-Home Services
In-home services are designed to give seniors support in their home with cleaning, laundry, personal care, and respite for individuals 60 years or older who live in Shiawassee County. Those referred to the program will be assessed to see if they qualify. You will not receive a bill from SCOA, but a suggested donation is expected. Your donation will help SCOA defer costs not covered by grants. A private pay caregiver would cost between $35-$45 per hour.
NEW….Private Pay Home Delivered Meals!
You must call SCOA to inquire about meals and online payment.
SCOA currently has a wait list for the Home Delivered Meals grant funded program.
Home Delivered Meals
More than a Meal, a safety check too! A nutritionally-sound meal is delivered to persons 60 years and older in Shiawassee County who are homebound. Meals are delivered Monday - Friday. An assessment is conducted every 6 months to determine the senior as physically or mentally incapable of preparing their own meals. You will not receive a bill from SCOA, but a suggested donation is expected to help defer costs not covered by grants. SCOA is a proud member of Meals On Wheels America!
